Abigail is now 9 pounds 12 ounces, almost 23 inches long and she is growing so fast! It is hard to believe that she came into the world a month ago already. Each and everyday there is a new coo, sound, or action. She has now transitioned to both breastfeeding and bottle feeding with Brian. We are both so glad so we can have a date night :-).
Her latest new thing is falling asleep in my arms, then I set her down into the crib and she sleeps for a little while but then cries for me to pick her up. It is cute that she wants to be by her mom...but annoying since she will not take her naps. But then when Brian comes home from work she is soooo pooped out she takes a nice long evening nap.
Brian has been attempting to train for the Grandma's Half-Marathon. But, being sleep deprived and trying to help with baby after work has deterred many runs. Prior to Abby's arrival Brian was averaging 40 miles per week, but now he is lucky if he gets 10 miles per week. Tonight Brian is hopefully going to get a longer run in.
I have learned to rest when Abby is resting otherwise the night feedings are rough. Abby is up at 1am and 4am to eat. Most of the time it is about a 20 minute feeding with diaper changing and then back to bed. I have been trying to get my flowers planted and gardens weeded but definitely a little bit harder this summer. Yesterday I planted some flowers that my friend Bonnie gave me for my birthday, planted a couple of strawberry plants and plucked the dandelions out of my garden. It was nice to go outside and do gardening while Brian was feeding Abby inside.
Today has been good, Abby is napping right now as we speak and I am planning to go and make some rhubarb cheesecake. I hope to get outside an finish up some gardening and maybe get down to the lake this afternoon since it is so beautiful outside.
